Heat Networks

At JPEC we have some of the most extensive experience of heat networks in the UK, including operational experience of systems serving social housing in the Nottinghamshire coalfields in the 1980s and the Pimlico District Heating Undertaking in Westminster. We have carried out commercial and technical commissions for the Nottingham, Newcastle, and Milton Keynes city schemes including the preperation of  business cases for expansion and renewal. Our staff managed the procurement of the heat and power concession for the London 2012 Olympic Games and supported the development of the Lee Valley heat network.

Recent projects include the procurement of the heat network for the Queens Quay development in Clydebank, on the former site of the John Brown shipyard. This innovative project uses a water source heat pump to extract heat from the River Clyde, to serve a mixed use development that includes housing, healthcare and educational buildings.
