Energy from waste is an increasingly important part of the UK energy mix. Clean combustion of solid fuel derived from commercial and industrial waste can generate heat and power, whilst diverting non-recyclable materials from landfill. Anaerobic digestion of food waste, farm slurry and sewage are all commercially viable and produce a clean gas and agricultural fertiliser.
